ZBAKERY WEDDINGS

Pastry for a day that deserves to be one of a kind

A wedding cake can be delicate, architectural, floral, minimalist or completely unexpected. For Paola, the starting point is always the same: understand the celebration and turn it into a piece that belongs within it.

EXPERIENCE & CRAFT

Aesthetics matter. Structure and flavour do too.

More than twelve years of craft, a journey built between Colombia and Spain, and Professional Pastry training at Le Cordon Bleu Madrid have given Paola a comprehensive view of pastry. Her experience across different pastry and restaurant projects, including Michelin-starred restaurants, translates into something especially important when working on a wedding: judgement.

A wedding piece has to be beautiful, but it also has to be well considered. Proportions, structure, textures, serving format and the relationship with the flowers, colours and table are all part of the same project. The aim is for the cake not to feel added at the end, but to belong to the celebration.

The cake has to work on the table, in photographs and, above all, when it is time to taste it.

WEDDING PASTRY STORIES

Four ways to imagine a wedding cake

There is no single way to make a wedding cake. Scale, silhouette, flowers, texture and even the way it is served can completely change the role pastry plays within the celebration.

PRESENCE

Flowers, height and movement

Some weddings call for a cake with presence. In a multi-tier composition, each level changes the proportions of the whole and asks us to think of the piece almost as a small work of architecture.

Here, white creates a calm base while vertical textures add rhythm. Pink and white flowers break up the silhouette organically and make the piece feel alive without losing elegance. Behind that light appearance is precision: tiers, finishes and decoration all have to coexist without competing with one another.

RESTRAINT

The elegance of restraint

A wedding can also call for visual quiet. When almost everything is white, distractions disappear and the craft is exposed in the smallest details: a clean surface, the proportions between tiers, the volume of a bow, a line of pearls or a sculpted flower.

It is an aesthetic that looks simple precisely because every element is carefully measured. Personality does not come from adding more, but from deciding what deserves to remain.

ANOTHER FORM

Breaking with the traditional shape

A wedding cake does not have to be a tower. A long rectangular format changes the experience completely: it sits differently on the table, creates a horizontal visual rhythm and can become a powerful visual gesture.

Red berries bring colour, texture and a fresher feeling to a white base. The result shows that a wedding piece can move away from classic codes without losing ceremony or sophistication.

SCENOGRAPHY

When pastry becomes part of the setting

In some settings, pastry stops being an isolated object and becomes part of the space. A very long piece can work with textiles, flowers, candles and furniture until it becomes one of the visual focal points of the celebration.

This kind of project requires thinking about scale, stability and how the piece works alongside the décor. The skill lies in making that complexity disappear once everything is finished.
